Code of Conduct

  1. Respect All Members – No trash talking, personal insults, or disruptive behaviour.

  2. Adherence to Laws of Chess – All games follow FIDE rules unless otherwise stated.

  3. Phones on Silent – Mobile phones must be silenced during games and coaching sessions.

  4. Open Challenges – Open challenges to a rated game, for the avoidance of rating preservation, challenges cannot be declined without a valid reason,.

  5. Default Loss – Players who fail to show for a scheduled game forfeit the match.

  6. Sportsmanship – Shake hands before and after each game.

  7. Timely Arrivals – Arrive on time for matches, tournaments, and coaching sessions.

  8. Board and Equipment Care – Handle boards, clocks, and pieces with care.

  9. Quiet Play Areas – Keep noise to a minimum in playing and study areas.

  10. No Cheating – All games must be played without outside assistance or chess engines.

  11. Dispute Resolution – All disputes are resolved by the club captain or appointed arbiter.

  12. No Bullying or Harassment – Intimidation, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.

  1. Spectator Conduct – Observers must remain quiet and avoid interfering with active games.

  2. Inclusivity – The club welcomes players of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds.

  3. Feedback & Suggestions – Members are encouraged to provide constructive feedback to improve club activities.
